Meet Phyllis

Not just writing fiction—re-writing the rules.

Discover the woman behind the series that reads like a warning, a wink and a
way out.

A propulsive and unpredictable new voice in domestic thrillers—smart, gritty
and impossible to put down.

Phyllis McCoy Horne has won more than a few Associated Press and Creative Excellence awards. But she's equally proud of having been a pretty good babysitter and a reasonably efficient lawn mower. The oldest of six, she grew up with a deep love of quiet—which may explain why she now requires two hours of solitude a day just to feel human. Over the years, she's been a dishwasher, singer-songwriter (with legendary Willie Nelson recording her "Cold November Wind "), TV broadcaster, ad agency owner, and semi-professional over-thinker who would love to return to amateur status in that exhausting sport. After decades of being professionally edited in journalism, advertising, and trade publications, she still believes a sharp editor is a writer's best friend. Now she's turning that lifelong writing habit into twisty, upmarket thrillers with heart—and a body count.
